What to Do in Šibenik

Stroll through the medieval core of Šibenik and you'll immediately taste the atmosphere. Šibenik still shows a piece of authentic Croatia. The city is less known than other Dalmatian cities. You'll find a rich history and various sights here. Šibenik has more than 45,000 inhabitants. The city was founded in the 9th century by Croats. After that, rulers such as the Hungarians, Venetians, and Italians followed. Between 1991 and 1995, the city was defended against Serbian troops. This long history makes the inhabitants proud of Šibenik. There's plenty to do in Šibenik, but just wandering around is already worth the effort.
