Things to Do in Šibenik

Walk through the medieval heart of Šibenik and you’ll immediately feel the atmosphere. Šibenik still showcases a piece of authentic Croatia. The city is less known than other Dalmatian cities, but you'll find a rich history and various sights here. Šibenik has more than 45,000 inhabitants. The city was founded in the 9th century by Croats. Then came rulers such as the Hungarians, Venetians, and Italians. Between 1991 and 1995, the city was defended against Serbian forces. This long history makes the inhabitants proud of Šibenik. There is plenty to do in Šibenik, but just wandering around is also well worth your time.
